Coronavirus - COVID-19
Updated 04 January 2021
Following the most recent government announcement we are pleased to confirm we are still continuing to provide cancer patient hospital transportation. Our current policy remains one client per car. Masks must be worn at all times to protect our clients and our drivers. Hand sanitiser is available in all our cars and our drivers will ensure all surfaces are wiped clean before and after each journey.
Thanks to a very generous donation from our friends at SWP Engineering Services Ltd all of our cars have been fitted with screens.

We'd like to share with you a few words from one of our clients who very kindly gave us feedback about our current service:
I have been a client of Berwick Cancer Cars for over three and a half years. Using the cars has made such a difference in my cancer fight. The driver's are all so friendly and it's lovely to have a chat with them on the way to hospital which helps take my mind off the serious reason I'm visiting hospital for. Because I'm taken direct to the correct department, I don't have the added stress of worrying about parking and being late for appointments, all these things would add to an already stressful situation.
Obviously because of the Covid-19 pandemic, for a period, the cars couldn't operate and when I heard they were back running - and to be honest, with me being more at risk - I was quite apprehensive about using the transport. However, I was assured that they had taken more than adequate precautions for both the driver and myself and only recently used them for an appointment at The Freeman. The driver was wearing a mask and as advised by the coordinator, I was wearing one myself. There was a clear screen between the driver and myself in the back which obviously made it difficult to have a normal conversation but this was expected and I was glad to be given the chance to use this service once again and not rely on other people. I'm eternally grateful for the support Berwick Cancer Cars have given me and hope to continue using them in time to come.
C.K.
