Moving Into Our New Home !!
Monday 8th May 2023
Our enormous thanks to everyone who came along to say a fond farewell to our Cars as they left Asda for the last time today and headed over to their new home. And what a fantastic and emotional reception our Cars received when they arrived at Tweed Street! Firstly lead in by a pipe band to be met by a crowd of cheering well wishers who all braved the rain!! Absolutely amazing support from our amazing town. We are truly humbled!!
At the helm of our six cars were Tom Matthewson driving “Thomas” \accompanied by our Chair, Andrew Smith; Michael Cox driving “Fiona”; Julie Nicholl driving “Pearl”; Louise Cockburn driving “Russell”, accompanied by Graham Toward and Tracy Tait (Russell’s brother and sister); David Pagan driving “Roddy” and Trevor Standing driving “Carol”.
Our team of volunteers were on hand to meet all our friends and supporters, we were delighted to welcome former Berwick Mayor, Mike Greener, outgoing Sheriff Eddie Docherty Mullins, and Berwick’s new Mayor, John Robertson and his wife Anne.
Thank you Berwick and District for making it possible for us to finally have a safe home for our cars and a hub for our volunteers which we look forward to sharing with our very special community.

"An outstanding team effort by an amazing team of volunteers who give so much to help others."
The efforts of the Berwick Cancer Cars volunteer team has been extraordinary. Hundreds of hours were spent planning, phoning, emailing, letter writing, bidding, running around, clearing, scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, polishing, fixing, constructing, lifting, carrying, hoovering, shopping, tea making and biscuit nibbling!... and finally adding those all important touches of "Berwick Cancer Cars" love to our new home on Tweed Street.
