Our immense gratitude to Fi Mather who, along with Rhonda Mather, Tina Hunter and Stacey Collin, bravely took on the North Sea waves and icy December weather to take part in the 2021 Boxing Day Dip to raise funds for our Cars. The team collected a mighty £2150, with Fi raising £606 through her online JustGiving fundraising page and the remaining £1544 collected off-line through paper sponsorship forms and a special collection box for the event at the Berwick Tesco Petrol Station.

Fi Mather is a great friend of our Cars and we are so pleased to be able to have assisted her as she herself has helped so many in our community in her working role within the North East Ambulance Service. Of her freezing fundraising challenge Fi said: “Myself, Fi Mather, Berwick ambulance crew, Tina Hunter Berwick ambulance crew, Rhonda Mather & Stacey Collin, Tesco Petrol station staff all took part in boxing day dip to help me raise funds. I wanted to be able to raise a decent amount to thank the Cancer Cars for taking me to my treatments and appointments after I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2020 and I’ve just returned back to work full time in December 2021 on the emergency ambulances for North East Ambulance Service (NEAS).”

With Fi’s help, the ‘Boxing Day Dip’ donation total now stands at £7935.50! Our enormous thanks, one more, to EACH and EVERY one of our amazingly brave and brilliant fundraisers who chose to help Berwick Cancer Cars at the 2021 Spittal Beach Boxing Day Dip and to all those who took part to raise funds for local and national charities.
