Very fond farewell to volunteer driver Ruth from all at Berwick Cancer Cars

Berwick Cancer Cars - Ruth McNeely leaving presentation

Monday 26th June 2023

Today we said a very fond (but very sad!) farewell today to one of our drivers, Ruth McNeely, as she and her husband Maurice bid farewell to Berwick.

For over five years in her role as a Berwick Cancer Cars volunteer driver, Ruth has helped hundreds of people in our community to reach their cancer related appointments, a much admired and respected member of our amazing volunteer team Ruth will be missed! Berwick Cancer Cars Chair, Andrew Smith, presented Ruth with a gift on behalf of the charity to thank her for her exceptional dedication to the charity and to the people of Berwick & District that she has helped over the years.

As a previous Chair of the Berwick Food Festival Ruth is well-known throughout the area for her tremendous organisational skills, her humour and her wonderful dedication to Berwick and its townsfolk.

A big thank you, Ruth, and fondest of farewells from your fellow Berwick Cancer Cars volunteer friends, we all wish you and Maurice every happiness in your new home and for the future!

We’ll leave the final word to Ruth…!

“Hi all,
🚗🚗🚘🚘 Many thanks for all your support during my time in our wonderful Charity. My 5+ years were a very special part of my time in Berwick. A time I will remember very fondly. I will certainly miss my drives with the most amazing clients who are so inspirational, friendly & positive despite what life has thrown at them. Stay safe everyone & again many thanks & every best wish to you all – Ruth (and Maurice) x”
