With an external courtyard area to the rear with parking provision to the front of the building.

The Northumberland County Council Planning Application Portal is inundated with support, despite some objections the positive comments from the good people of Berwick & District is clear and overwhelming – and we are absolutely overwhelmed!

July 2021 – Time Capsules (1st stage)
A BERWICK CANCER CARS COMMITTEE INITIATE, WORKING ALONGSIDE OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY
Providing our local schools and community care organisations with Time Capsules to capture treasured memories for future generations
Lead by Sandi Henderson, our team of Committee Members, Freya, Joy, Shona and Tom, visited the first of 12 schools and community organisations to collect their Time Capsules.
Many thanks to all the headteachers, staff and pupils at Berwick St Mary’s CE First School – Berwick Middle School – Holy Trinity CE First School – St Cuthbert’s RC First School – Tweedmouth West First School – Border Links – Spittal Community First School – Berwick Academy – The Grove School.
We purchased the site in late 2018 with the view to developing the site to create a new multipurpose building for use of the charity and for functions. The main function of the building is to create a secure parking facility
for the cars which are driven by volunteers to provide cancer patients with a service to get them to and from appointments and treatments.
The proposals include for the demolition of the existing building which was used as a depot by ATS Euromaster until its purchase by the applicants.
The cars are to take pride of place within the garage at the front of the building with large fully glazed sectional doors providing access and a viewing platform from outside. Access to the function facilities is through the showroom area and leads to the function area to the rear with kitchen and toilet facilities for all. To the rear of the building we propose creating a small external courtyard with large glazed sliding doors providing access between the two.
