It was with enormous thanks and gratitude that representatives of the Berwick & District Cancer Support Group, Berwick’s Cancer Cars met with Maxwell Motors Service Manager Steven Murray and his colleagues to thank them in person for nominating our charity to receive a donation from the ARI Masterserve Foundation.
Steven submitted our charity details to the ARI Masterserve Foundation committee who meet every quarter and award funds to nominated charities. Donations are made from their ‘funding pot’ which is an amazing initiative whereby 1% of every job a Masterserve Garage Partner carries out is donated to the Foundation for charitable purposes. There are currently 400 Masterserve Garage Partners throughout the UK and in 2020 they raised an incredible £63,544 which was distributed to 19 national and regional charities. Awards are made across the UK for charities in the Social Aid and Development, and Healthcare sector, and all garages in the network have the opportunity to benefit a local charity as well as larger national charities. Since their inception in 2015, the Foundation have raised a staggering £300,000, assisting well over 50 charities.
Thanks to Steven’s kind nomination the ARI Masterserve Foundation recently donated £7088.10 to the Berwick & District Cancer Support Group, which Steven said far exceeded his expectations! The enormously generous and unexpected donation is a huge help to further the work of our charity and its team of volunteers, to help keep our free, dedicated cancer patient transportation service on the road. The Foundation’s motto “Together we can make a tremendous difference” is also tremendously appropriate, we cannot thank Steven and the Foundation committee enough for the amazing support given not just to our charity but to the many, many charities they help each year across the length and breadth of the UK.
