Our Cars
Our fleet currently comprises of six cars; Roddy, Fiona, Pearl, Thomas, Pipes and Tweedy.
The support we receive means we are very proud to be able to own all of our cars outright and each car is specially named with our supporters in mind, to thank or to commemorate them for their incredible kindness and fundraising for our cars.

Tweedy
October 2023
‘Tweedy’ fondly named to celebrate our new home on Tweed Street!
Piper
October 2023
‘Piper’ named after our very own "Charity Piper!", Andrew Smith, to celebrate his many years of selfless service to the community and longstanding role as Chair of Berwick Cancer cars. In 2023 Andrew came runner-up for the prestigious “The Lady Rose Crossman Lifetime Achievement award" and won "Community Champion" and "Fundraiser of the Year" at 'The Best of Northumberland Awards'. Our committee voted unanimously to name our new car in recognition of Andrew's outstanding charity service, he has covered almost every role within the charity apart from client driver.
Thomas
February 2023
‘Thomas’, we proudly recognised one of our volunteer heroes, Tom Matthewson, by naming our newest car after him in recognition of the tremendous hard work Tom has undertaken for his years of selfless service to the community in his roles as Berwick Cancer Cars Driver and Vehicle Manager. In 2022 Tom was nominated and awarded runner-up for “The Lady Rose Crossman Lifetime Achievement award". Our committee voted unanimously to name our new car in recognition of Tom's outstanding service and dedication to the charity and on behalf of the hundreds of cancer patients he's helped over the years and many of our drivers, past and present, came along to support Tom at Tweedmouth Service Station as the keys to our new car were handed over to us.

Fiona & Pearl
November 2022
‘Fiona’.
We were delighted that Carolyn and husband Keith Smith were able to join us at Tweedmouth Service Station for an official handover presentation as we collected “Fiona”, named after Carolyn’s sister Fiona McDonald who’s donation of £30,000 made it possible for us to buy our new car.
We first met with Carolyn Smith, Shirley McDonald, Diane Love and Marion Moscrop in a touchingly emotional presentation, when they donated a cheque to Berwick Cancer Cars for £30,000, made in fondest, loving memory of their sister Fiona McDonald who so sadly lost her battle with cancer.

‘Russell’, named in memory of Russell Toward who was an amazing supporter of our cause and cars. Carol
Carol 2021
‘Carol’, named in memory of Carol Ditchfield
Sometimes a supporter goes above and beyond and makes their support for us a passion. Carol sadly lost her fight with Cancer in 2020 but right up until the end she was raising money for our cars with her ‘West End Saturday Lockdown Bingo’. We are proud to have supported Carol through her journey and even more grateful to her for her drive and ability to give local people camaraderie and entertainment in her fundraising activities.
