Our First Fayre at Tweed Street raises over £1700!
Our very first “Fayre @TweedStreet” was a wonderful success, raising over £1700 on the day and £3000 in total from the sale of raffle tickets in the lead up to our Spring / Summer Fayre Big Raffle Prize Draw. Huge thank you to all those who bought raffle tickets on the day and in the lead up to the big day, we loved meeting and chatting to you all!
Huge thanks to those who so generously donated raffle prizes and many congratulations to our Prize Draw Raffle Winners, our 1st Prize was £200 cash (and they so kindly donated £50 back to us!!), 2nd prize was a very well-stocked hamper and 3rd prize winner was a 3 course meal for two at the Milan restaurant, Wooler, with lots of other super raffle prizes! Our 1st Prize Raffle Winner was drawn by town Mayor, John Robertson, we are both delighted and humbled that John has nominated Berwick Cancer Cars as his “Mayor’s Charity” during his year as Mayor of Berwick.
Huge thanks also to all those who spent so much time baking and who donated cakes for our cake stall (and what a fantastic selection of cakes we had!!) Alongside our mountainous cake stall we also ran our famously fun “bottle tombola” with mystery prizes ranging from water to whisky! As well as our Bric-a-brac stall and our second-hand book stall. Berwick Cancer Cars driver Dawn kindly ran her popular gift stall with all proceeds going to our Cars, thank you Dawn!
What a terrific turnout we had at our new home at 8 Tweed Street and we enjoyed showing our supporters around the building who hadn’t seen it before. We look forward to welcoming you all back for our next @TweedStreet event!
Our team of volunteers and helpers, lead by Rowena, were wonderful and worked really hard to make the event a big success on the day and leading up to the day. A special thank you to the amazing kitchen team who kept everyone fed with tasty bacon rolls and well watered with tea, coffee and juice – you all did us proud!
