Sheriff’s Open Garden A Great Success!
Berwick-upon-Tweed Town Sheriff, David Gordon, and Sheriff’s lady, Pat Gordon, kindly opened their beautiful walled garden to the public in aid of the Mayor’s Charity, the Berwick and District Cancer Support Group.
The £5 entry fee included tea/coffee and an array of delicious home-baked cakes, there was also a very popular tombola and visitors were able to purchase wonderful pottery, hand-made by the Sheriff’s Lady.
The open garden event was a great success with a continuous stream of visitors who made the most of the warm, sunny day; relaxing and chatting to their hosts and friends, and enjoying the wonderful, idyllic garden surroundings.
Our thanks to the Sheriff and Sheriff’s Lady, for sharing their hidden gem of a garden and for being such warm and welcoming hosts, and to the Mayor and Mayoress, John and Anne Robertson, who attended the event and for their kind generosity in supporting Berwick Cancer Cars. Berwick Cancer Cars volunteer Rowena performed a super task, serving teas and coffees in the summerhouse. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported Berwick Cancer Cars.
