Our amazing 2022 Team join us from all over the UK! London, Norwick, Manchester, Alnwick, Shilbottle, Wooler, Lowick, Belford, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Reston, Duns and Edinburgh.
Berwick Cancer Cars have had a Great North Run team since 2015 when seven runners, all from Berwick-upon-Tweed, took up the challenge to run the world famous 13.1 mile route in aid of our Cars.
For 2022 we're incredibly proud that in our very special 30th anniversary year, our amazing GNR team has grown to 64 fundraising runners and, as well as our local heroes, we have runners joining us from all over the UK!

We will once again be organising our very popular weekly 'social training runs' in 2022, starting Wednesday 13th July, 9 weeks before the BIG DAY. We love our get togethers and everyone is welcome to join us whether they are running for us or not !! Our first run will be a short easy fun run around the Berwick Town Walls (ALL our runs are FUN !!) increasing the distance each week by roughly a mile. To give all those legs a rest we break a week before the Great North Run.

All our runners are given a free, sponsored running top as a thank you and we encourage all our team to wear Berwick Cancer Cars tops during their training runs as it gives our sponsors the support they deserve too. Everybody Welcome to our last long team run get together !!
6.30pm for our Team Photo before we do an EASY chatty short team get together jog to the Lighthouse.
From the Parade we head up through Cow Gate past the Stanks and take the right turn path by the side of the Berwick Bowling Club towards the sea. Then right towards the coastguard look out we follow the edge of the golf course all the way down to past Lowry brick shelter car park to Pier Road. Head to the end of the lighthouse and back up towards our start place at the Parade.

Congratulations to our Great North Run 2021 (40th Birthday) Runners!! After the disappointment of 2020 we were delighted the 40th Anniversary Celebrations went ahead and our amazing team of 53 fundraising runners raised over £32,000.

In 2018 we managed an amazing 41 runners in The Great North Run and The Junior Great North Run raising over £20,000! We also starred in the opening credits of the BBC coverage.

It is difficult to get entries for the run as it is so popular but for the 2017 run we managed to have 39 participants and raised the magnificent sum of £14,000. This money allowed us to replace one of cars and name him 'Miles' in recognition of all the miles ran by our incredible Berwick Cancer Cars GNR Team Runners.

2015 was the year of our inaugural Great North Run Team. Seven Berwickers got together and ran in aid of Berwick Cancer Cars.
