Welcome To Jack
On Saturday 9th November we proudly took charge of our newest cancer car “Jack” and we said a very fond farewell to cancer car “Roddy” named in honour of the residents of Roddam Court whose spectacular outdoor Christmas lights display has raised funds for the Group for so many years.
The Berwick Cancer Cars committee voted unanimously to name our new car in recognition of the fundraising support provided by the bowling clubs in Spittal and Tweedmouth over many years and we were pleased to welcome representatives from both along today. A Jack is the small target ball used in lawn bolls.
The naming ceremony took place at the Tweedmouth Service Station in front of many a large number of Berwick Cancer Car volunteers as well as members of both clubs which we were very grateful for their support and attendance.
Huge thanks again to Spittal Bowling Club and Tweedmouth Bowling Club and a very warm welcome to “Jack” from all the Berwick Cancer Cars volunteer team!
