Lynne sets her goals high – The Tweed River from source to sea!

Local lady Lynne Meakin is about to embark on a journey I know a lot of us would love to do. For a personal challenge and to help our funds Lynne has decided she is going to walk the length of the River Tweed, from source to sea!

We received this wonderful message from Lynne:

” At the start of the year I was feeling a bit down in the dumps and so decided to set myself a challenge and raise money at the same time. The challenge would give me something to focus on and get me into our beautiful countryside making feel better at the same time.

I lost both my parents to cancer, my Mum to breast cancer and my Dad to bowel cancer. My Dad was a supporter of The Berwick Cancer Cars so I have decided to support them in my quest.

I madly chose to walk the length of the River Tweed and have decided to follow the Tweed cycle route from Biggar to Berwick-Upon-Tweed which is a little over 95 miles!

I plan to start on 22nd September 2019 and will take 5 days to complete. “

My route is:

• Biggar to Peebles
• Peebles to Melrose
• Melrose to Kelso
• Kelso to Tilmouth
• Tilmouth to Berwick
